Hello! I'm Chanda Williams!

Pronounced "Ch-anda"-- "ch" like "cherry" and "anda" like "panda"

I am a native Atlantan, I went to school in Boston, and now I live in Kirkwood with my husband and our son.

I think my husband and our son are awesome.

We are happily expecting our second son in June 2012, so I am not currently taking on clients. Please see my resource page for excellent doulas in the area!

I am a teacher at a local preschool and believe in community.

I love history, as well as hot summer days, ice cream and good books!

I believe there is power in the beauty of birth.

I believe that pregnancy, birth, and parenthood are powerful events that women must take back, and hope that we as a people will regain a respect for childbirth and parenthood.

My pregnancy and natural hospital birth were challenging and wonderful, and I love helping others enjoy their own experience however they want to. I feel honored and blessed to be a part of something sacred. I am a DONA certified birth doula because my support during labor and delivery can increase the chances of a family experiencing the type of birth they desire and deserve.

At Boston University I studied photo-journalism, but was always pulled toward portraiture. My style is a little documentary, mixed with a bit of whimsy, to create a sense of timeless beauty. Whether it is pregnancy or newborn portraiture, birth photos, or candid family shots, I strive to capture some of the lovely moments that happen on this incredible journey.
